Why you should always buy the retail copies of software...

This very morning my beloved laptop of three years died on me (RIP). Unable to go one day without internets and technology, I immediately made my way to the local Apple Store and bought a new baby (see: Macbook).

Of course, I had years and years of important data (read: porn) to get off old and busted laptop, but unfortunately, said laptop would not longer charge and could not be turned on. So began the insanely ghetto rigging of another laptop's battery lodged into the new one's slot, held together with large, heavy software boxes. This was not the first fix attempted, however. There were wires cut and stripped, old power cables cut open and scotch tape to hold it all together.

Finally - huzzah! - I have a sexy new laptop on my lap with all my old important data safely in place. Oh, internets, how I have missed you.
